Audrey Robson

Profile

Audrey started her singing career with Chester-le Street AOS and joined DMTC in 1966.

Her first role with the Society was Adele in “Pink Champagne” in 1967. This was followed by a string of high soprano roles including Euridice in “Orpheus in the Underworld”, Magnolia in “Showboat” and Karolka in “Summer Song”.

Audrey’s versatility also allowed her to be equally successful in the very different character roles of Yente in “Fiddler on the Roof”, Gooch in “Mame” and the title role of “Hello, Dolly!”.

Audrey has performed in many of the Society’s summer shows, taking lead roles in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, “The Good Companions” and “Charlie Girl”.

In 2000 she played the part of Momma Schlumfert in “Little Me”. She was Kate in our tribute to Cole Porter, “What a Swell Party!” and was part of the Mission Band in our 2005 production of “Guys and Dolls”.

In last season’s “Titanic” she portrayed Mrs. Ida Straus. She continues to perform at Lumley Castle in their medieval banquets.

In Gigi Audrey is playing the part of Mamita.
