Catherine Marsden
Profile
Catherine has been singing from a young age, with barbershop taking her to Europe and America. Her quartet took the international silver medal in the Young Women’s Barbershop championships in Texas and she sang close harmony with a 1940’s jazz band during her teens, particularly enjoying the opportunity to flounce around with a feather boa!
Catherine moved to Durham from Nottingham to study chemistry at the university. Her initial involvement in musical theatre was designing the sets and painting scenery for university productions.
Her first contact with DMTC was in 2006 to enquire about set design, but she soon found herself in the chorus for Gigi and by opening night she was hooked! Since then she has enjoyed dancing in and being in the chorus of several DMTC shows.
Following her appearance as Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Catherine is now looking forward to playing the slightly more upper class role of Helen in Scrooge, and contending with a crinoline!
Catherine has thoroughly enjoyed every minute with DMTC and would like to thank all the incredibly talented members for the opportunities, support and encouragement she has received!
