Catherine Marsden

Profile

Catherine has been singing from a young age, with barbershop taking her to Europe and America. Her quartet took the silver medal in the international championships and she sang close harmony with a 1940’s jazz band during her teens.

Her initial involvement in musical theatre was designing the sets and painting scenery for university productions. Her first contact with DMTC was to enquire about set design, but she soon found herself in the chorus for Gigi and by opening night she was hooked!

Since then she has enjoyed dancing in and being in the chorus of several DMTC shows.

Following her appearances as Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof and Helen in Scrooge, Catherine is delighted to be returning as giggly chorus girl Lorraine in 42nd Street.

She said: “We’ve had so much fun mastering the energetic tap routines. Many thanks have got to go to our incredibly talented (and patient!) choreographer, Kathleen Knox!”
