Delia has taken part in several of our pantomimes including, most notably the title role in “Snow White”. Delia has also performed regularly with South Shields AOS.
At GALA her roles have included Sally Smith in “Me and My Girl”, the high flying title role in “Peter Pan”, Eliza Doolitttle in “My Fair Lady”, Guenevere in “Camelot”, Martha in “The Secret Garden”, Miss Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls”, Alice Beane in “Titanic”, Amy in “Company” and most recently Mabel Normand in our critically successful “Mack and Mabel”. She recently made her Northern Opera debut singing the part of Siebel in “Faust”.
Delia is doubly delighted to perform Golde in “Fiddler on the Roof”, as she last played in the show in 1989 at the Sunderland Empire Theatre. Then she played the role of Tzeitel and her partner was Anthony Smith who played the part of Motel the tailor. “Fast forward 20 years and guess who’s playing Tevye? Wouldn’t you know, it’s my dear friend whom I’ve married at least 20 times (in other productions), Anthony Smith.
"I feel sure that this production will be an honest interpretation and full of insights into a community wrestling persecution and change while not forgetting the inherent humour and warmth. Berakhah on us all!”
