Derek's Beard Growing Photo Diary

I'd never had a beard or a moustache in my life as I like my youthful good looks too much, as one of the performers in 'Fiddler on the Roof' a beard was required for all of the Jews (well the men anyway) so I had to suffer for my art.

I started on the 1st December 2008 and scratched my way through Christmas and the New Year until the show in April 2009. Every day for 18 weeks until the show ended I took a picture of myself and posted it in the grid below showing the beards progress. That’s 126 pictures in total.

As motivation to keep going I decided to try and raise some money towards the show, in particular to make the
Fruma-Sarah character fly.

UPDATE: Derek's Beard photobook wins the 1st prize in the Photobox book competition and is featured in Photo Pro and Digital SLR user magazines in the November 2009 issues.
