Paul Maddison
Profile

Paul joined DMTC in 2005 and first appeared as a chorus member in the society’s adaptation of Sondheim’s ‘Company’.

Paul spent many years touring the pubs and clubs of the north east as a solo artist with a large repertoire of eclectic music ranging from the 50’s to modern day. He learnt his craft after studying at Peterlee College of performing arts.

After retiring from the north east circuit, Paul sought a new outlet in which to carry on with his love of performing and so auditioned to join DMTC.

For our production of ‘Gigi’, Paul played the part of the Telephone Installer, in ‘Mack and Mabel’ he played the part of the Watchman as well as being in the chorus for both shows.

In Noel & Ivor, Paul had the pleasure of playing a Major in the British Army in the days of the Raj, one half of a comedy duo alongside Anthony Smith.

In Fiddler on the Roof', Paul obtained his biggest role so far with DMTC playing Mordcha the Innkeeper followed by Mr Bleak in Scrooge and then Rudolph Reisenweber in Hello, Dolly!

In Grand Hotel Paul is playing Victor Witt, the Manager of the Ballet Company.

Comment: “I am so proud to be a member of such a prestigious society as DMTC. I had searched locally for societies of which to become a member but after witnessing it’s adaptation of the phenomenal hit ‘Titanic the Musical’ I knew then, that this was the one for me.

Whilst being a member of DMTC this has opened other doors for me as until recently I was the Master of Ceremonies with Lumley Castle in the Elizabethan Banquets and undertaken TV work having recently appeared in a 3 part ITV drama entitled ‘Place of Execution’ as a member of the jury.

I am looking forward to this year’s production with great excitement and likewise towards the future productions of the company.”
